Australia is a nation of peoples with many languages, ethnic backgrounds, traditions, and religions where, more than a quarter of Australians (29.8 per cent) were born overseas. More than 200 different languages are spoken by people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds in addition to languages spoken by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Australians identify with around 200 different ancestries. People with disability from multicultural backgrounds may face isolation, a lack of information, and difficulty connecting with support services.
