We started to support and assist people from many different walks of life at a very early age. We never put much thought into our mind, it was something we knew was part of our life mission in one way or another.
So when Marcia, the CEO, experienced living with a person with disability, she thought how she could support her own child which is a hard hearing person and to make him empower himself, she started to get educated by research at every level. How to help him when his mind and body became part of his frustration. As a parent, she can go only in 2 ways: up or down, she decided for him, to go up.
Her true awakening came during her son’s teenage years; she became genuinely frustrated with the services where he was just a number, not a person with dreams and inspiration. Then NDIS was offered, and she realised that she wanted her son to become a part of the service where he would be encouraged to define himself and nothing else.
She started training and coaching Disability Support Workers, and her inspirations are supporting other people to live a life of fulfilment.
